2026 Intensives
Descriptions A-Z
Amanita Ceremony: Awaken to the Power of Dreaming
Guide: Joanna Mann
Our society has fallen asleep to the power of dreaming. The dream world takes us into the imaginal realm where we can heal, manifest, and travel without the limitations of the physical world holding us back. When we feel like we are having trouble breaking through a plateau reached in healing, Amanita muscaria can be called on to open the gates of the imaginal realm so we can dream ourselves into being again. In this experiential journey, we will call on the power of Amanita in ceremony with the intention to undergo metamorphosis into a higher version of our truth.

Flowers with Fae" How to Ignite your Inner Creativity through Artwork, Spirituality, and Herbalism
Presenter: Abigail Warner
Everyone has a creative side, sometimes it just needs a bit of awakening! In this workshop we will tap into a unique dimension of flower medicine, learning how to study and observe a plant and truly embody the connection, bridging the gap between plants and humans. Our time together will start with a talk about the importance of native flowers, how to help our pollinators and how we can be in connection with these creatures. Then, we will engage with flowers through intuition, the senses, creative "study", and a beginner-friendly painting activity. We'll explore color, shape, texture, etc. and connect more deeply through a guided mediation. Abigail will discuss the medicinal properties of native flowers throughout the workshop and there will be time for questions and sharing. Come connect with Mother Nature through creativity, spirituality, and herbalism!
Reishi Double Extraction Medicine Making Intensive
Presenter: Gina Rivers
This is a hands-on workshop that will construct, compare and contrast two distinct methods of making a functional mushroom double extraction. The first process will be a traditional, folk method of making a dual extraction. The second method is faster and utilizes the aid of a magic butter machine and pressure cooker. We will be able to see this process from start to finish in class. These methods can be applied to most other medicinal mushrooms! In addition to learning the methods of making the solution, we will also discuss why mushrooms require dual extraction and not a simple, hydroethanolic menstruum. We will discuss clinical applications and herbal allies that complement Reishi. The outcome of this intensive will prepare students to make and utilize medicinal mushroom dual extractions in their clinical practices, or for home/community use. Everyone leaves with a 1 oz extract!

Tending the Fire: Lore and Fire Keeping
Presenter: Howl
Come along for a journey in pursuit of the most elusive element - fire! This intensive includes a wander through the woods, myths and origin stories about fire, an exploration of early fire-human relations and interactive fire making. So much of human experience is punctuated by fire- including making food and medicine! This intensive is an open invitation to deepen your relationship with the fiery serpents that have continually shifted the human experience.

Weaving Storytelling with Herbalism
Presenter: Phyllis D. Light
In folk medicine, the story of both person and plant is an essential element in the healing process. There's always a deeper story waiting to be uncovered and taking time to discover it can help us tap into worlds of wisdom we may have missed otherwise. In this intensive, we'll learn to peel back the layers and dig deeper to find the stories underneath the surface of our own lives as well as the lives of those we serve. We'll immerse ourselves into the practices of active listening, storytelling and curiosity while learning how to weave them into our herbal practice, be that within our own homes or within a community setting. This intensive is suitable for all levels of herbal folks and plant lovers.
